second day in Saigon

Woke up 4.20am. Sydney time 8.20. Didn't know whether to use the a/c and get dried out like a prune or turn it off and melt like ice cream ...... mmmm ice cream!

Visited the University of Industry between 9:00-3:00. Thuy talked with the President for a long time and so I tried to listen and stay awake. Then we had a gided tour around the campus. It's quite small but there are many tall buildings and so they fit a lot of students in a small space. After the tour we were given lunch and were joined by a couple of Dutch university representatives, so I chatted with them a bit over lunch as well.

returned to the office then Son took my back to the hotel by motorcycle.

I've been walking around the area near the hotel. There's a park and various wide and narrow streets. Some interesting places to walk. It's quite humid, but I think the air temperature is not too high. Every time I got hot I went into an air conditioned shop to cool down :)

Now I'm sitting in "Yogurt Space" - self serve yogurt bar. You dispense various flavours and then add bits like nuts, jelly, etc and pay by weight.

I'll be staying at the Halo Hotel in Saigon from 8 Nov. Hope to walk around the Ben Thanh Markets and maybe beside the river.

the week before .....

it's Wednesday 3 November and I have my E-ticket, itinerary and a few Vietnamese words - thanks to my wonderful teacher :)
I will get my passport and visa tomorrow. The flight is VN 782 on Monday 11:35 departure time.
I am excited to be going to VN again - this time seeing Saigon for the fist time!
